Fans of WeTV’s Mama June TV shows are “heartbroken” this August as Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird and her partner, Josh, are going their separate ways. The two have been married for six years and share four children together. Over the years, viewers have seen the couple overcome all kinds of family challenges including taking in Lauryn’s sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, and having kids of their own.
WeTV stars Lauryn and Josh have been appearing on their family’s reality TV show for the past seven years. In that time, fans have grown to love the couple, even hailing them “role models.” Upon hearing the news of Pumpkin and Josh’s split, more take to her TikTok page to say they “refuse” to believe it.
Mama June’s Pumpkin and Josh divorce
It’s clear to see Pumpkin and Josh have had a lot to deal with during their time on Mama June: Family Crisis.
Now, their woes aren’t limited to issues with parents or siblings as they navigate a divorce, per Entertainment Tonight.
Lauryn and Josh are reportedly divorcing after six years of marriage. Per court documents obtained by ET, they separated a month ago and it was Lauryn who filed for divorce.
The reality stars are parents to four children under the age of six – Ella, 6, Bentley, 3, and twins, Sylus and Stella, who are now just two years old.
TMZ, first to report the news, states how the couple is set to have joint custody of their children, and assumes from the court documents that Josh will be moving out.
‘We didn’t live their lives’
Pumpkin takes to TikTok just days after her divorce filing and has many of her fans saying they’re “heartbroken” over the news.
Fans have seen Josh and Lauryn go through tough times on their TV show. As well as raising their own kids, viewers saw them taking in Alana, dealing with family drama, and suffering the loss of Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell.
Many fans comment on Lauryn’s social media posts to say they’re “so sad,” as more say the couple were “role models” and others go as far as to say: “That’s it. I don’t believe in love anymore.”
However, some people are in Josh and Lauryn’s corner, commenting: “Yes we all loved them together but we didn’t live their lives. No marriage is perfect but we should respect their decision and show love and support during her journey…”
More wish the two well, and write on Lauryn’s TikTok post: “We only know what we get to watch. Hope and pray you all are healthy and safe.”
